I'M A REC CENTER

What's better than a hangover Saturday morning? well, maybe not having one, walking around Echo Park and coming across an art exhibit that is less gallery like and more interactive, think science center as a child. "The Creators Series highlights tomorrow’s ideas and cultural trends, exploring the worlds of film, media, design, illustration, fashion, advertising, and technology, with a strong focus on interdisciplinary creativity. Curated and produced by Tomorrow Unlimited, The Creators Series has been designed as the premier outlet for the convergence of international creative talent, and as a platform to support optimism and idealism in arts and culture."
Jesse and I ran around, clicked away and spun around Daft Punk's record. Check it.

San Pedro Pets

The name of the pet store escapes me at the present moment, however, the amazing loungy quality of this cat makes me want a cat-nap.
Yeah cheesy, I know, but I do want a hammock.

Daily Breeze

California has some of the most amazing architecture in the world, but sometimes with new technology, population shifts and the constant need for change, well... we often overlook some of the most amazing buildings that have great symmetrical lines as well as functional design. The Daily Breeze is the South Bay's neighborhood paper, reporting national news but maintaining its local integrity and charm. In the past the paper and building had the same owner, but with the recent sale of the paper and the building being put up on the market, The Breeze will relocate once the building is sold. The building was built for the paper and the technology available at the time, on-site printing rooms were once used but no longer necessary.
The link for the paper is listed below, the building is located in Torrance and is a great destination, while not far from the beach.

FOUND ASS

Sometimes I think to myself, "Wow...what have I done to deserve this?"
All the magical phenomenons that come my way are just another reason to believe that I have some good karma out there in the world.
Of notable mention is this picture found on Santa Monica Blvd. in WEHO, it's like stating the obvious, but... it's bare tanned ass with baby oil smothered all over.

GLASTONBURY SCREENING FREE BEVERLY HILLS NEXT THURSDAY

DEAR MANAGEMENT OFFICE

Dear Jill,
I hope that you can understand my curiosity and astonishment upon my discovery of a hat rack in the 4th floor corridor leading to our office.
The bicycle was rather an ambitious feat to leave in the hallway, however, the miniature hat rack far exceeds my expectations of midget decadence.
Not only is the hat rack by far too small for an average sized human (see average height to the right in pic 6979) but I am appalled that you have let midgets move into our floor, is it safe for them? Can they reach the doors?
Can the midget that wears these hats possible ride the bike to the left?
Please respond.
Thank you,
Alex

Paper random pics

I should have been taking pictures all last week but instead I was out getting drunk and being a fluzzy while hitting on potentially gay guys...wait! who am I kidding I knew they were gay but they were soooo pretty.
Paper was great they infiltrated this city and brought out the funnest and most fashionably chaotic people and I mean that in a good way. These are pics that I could salvage the one hour I should have been lying in the gutter but hadn't fallen yet.
Great clothing, free booze and cute girls. The girls in white are from showpony, cute store fun gals.

Hit & Run why is it so fun?

Hit & Run live silk screening on site at Guitar Center on Sunset.
These guys are awesome each event there are unique prints which you choose and lay out on a shirt of your choice, most times free.

Presets & THE RAPTURE @ Pomona's Glasshouse

I haven't been to the glasshouse in a few years, I remember seeing The Faint there last. The performance was memorable but it couldn't compete with my memories of sneaking out at 14-16 years old to get into horrible raves just in order to hang out with people that were too old to be there in the first place. At this point I am convinced they were all pedophiles.

The Presets opened for The Rapture who last summer and the summer before that had everyone dancing to Sister Saviour, House of Jealous Lovers you get my drift. Usually as most last minute scragglers and traffic afficionados, I too arrive late but, since I didn't do any of the driving I arrived on time to be surprised by this two piece of reverb and howls. The drumming was great, the beats were fantastic and their nu wave ghetto tech tie die was interesting enough. But much like the test of the emergency broadcast system became earpiercingly repetitious and annoying. Much like looking at the vertical primary colors on my screen I was ready to move on.

With the rapture it's almost like you know what is to be expected, they have been touring for a few years now and they are a solid band. After listening to 2 14 year olds discuss what they prefer on album a as opposed to album b I ran to the nearest bar. Only wait--there is no bar. Surprisingly this venue allows you to leave and buy liquor and pound it outside. So I did just that only I had to take tips from teenager, oh god! I had become that old person that hustles children.

I came back inside to listen to every hit of their first album and also their newer album which has not been regarded as highly by critics, and although dancy and great does not hold a candle to prior work. Great band to dance to great dance to watch but if you miss them buy their remix album.
